Today is the beginning of this little corner made for the maidenhead gridsquare we call home, and where we keep our little ham shacks.   Some of the ham shacks are humble, others are impressive.  Some are neat and tidy, others are atrocious.

Whether we are deedling the CW or ragchewing on our cloudburners, we enjoy calling the Denver metro area home.

What is a maidenhead gridsquare?  How big is a gridsquare?

An instrument of the Maidenhead Locator System (named after the town outside London where it was first conceived by a meeting of European VHF managers in 1980), a grid square measures 1° latitude by 2° longitude and measures approximately 70 × 100 miles in the continental US.
